LIGHTHOUSE IND BAPTIST CHURCH IS A . . .

  • FUNDAMENTAL

We believe in the verbal plenary inspiration of both the Old and New

Testament. The Bible, the Word of God, is the full and complete

revelation of God’s will for man. It is the supreme and final authority

in all matters of faith and practice.

  • INDEPENDENT

The government of this church, in line with the  fundamental Baptist

principle of autonomy of the local fellowship and subject only to Jesus

Christ, who is the head of the Church, shall be vested in the body of

immersed believers who having been accepted into membership, shall

have full power to manage its own affairs as herein provided.

As a New Testament church our obligation is to co-operate with other

churches of like mind in contending for the faith and the furtherance

of the gospel, and that every church is the sole and only judge of the

measure and method of its co-operation.

  • FAMILY ORIENTED

We believe that the family is an institution designed by God himself and that it is the bedrock of society. Lighthouse Baptist Church is dedicated to building strong, Christ-centered families and homes.

  • BAPTIST

We believe that baptism is a symbol of the believer’s

identification with the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. It is

strictly an act of obedience following conversion. Christ only gave

authority to His church to baptize by full immersion in water.

  • CHURCH

We believe that while all believers are part of the invisible, universal

church. The visible local New Testament church is an organized

assembly of baptized believers with the purpose of fulfilling the Great

Commission given by Jesus Christ. Each church is to be autonomous,

indigenous, and independent. The church is governed, first, as a

theocracy; and secondly, as a democracy. The officers of the church

are Pastors also called Bishops, Overseers, Elders and deacons. The

church is to observe two ordinances established by Jesus Christ:

baptism and the Lord’s Supper.
